Gloves in Florida

I started my 37-week marathon training plan again today.  This will be the third time I've attempted to get through it.  Holidays, family visits and illnesses keep getting in the way.  I used to use the excuse that if I were away from home, I didn't know the mileage of where I was visiting, but thanks to Nike + iPod, I can no longer use that excuse.  I can't even describe how motivating it was to run with.  At the end of my run, it told me exactly how far I went, my average time and how many calories I burned.  I also got new running shoes and a new iPod, so I should be all set to complete it this time.  I just need to find a marathon I can sign up for that's in 37 weeks.

Right now, I am dying to use weather as an excuse not to run.  It was a high of 45 degrees here in Jacksonville today.  I had to run with gloves and a hat on AND I had to put the heat on in my apartment.  I wanted to be able to say, "I've never put the heat on since I've lived in Florida," but that went down the tubes.  I finally had to give in last night when Bosha (my pit bull) woke me up digging on her bed because she was cold, and I had to cover her with a blanket.  Maybe The Day After Tomorrow is coming true?
